Veggie Cream Cheese by Galaxy Nutritional Foods
I spread some Veggie Cream Cheese (by Galaxy Natural Foods) on a cinnamon-raisin bagel and eeeyyyyuuuuck!! It has an somewhat oniony taste I did not expect. Now, had I been making onion dip, this might have been ok.

I was also disappointed to find "casein (a dried skim milk protein)" among the ingredients.

Folex Instant Carpet Spot Remover
The bottle says "Instant Results. No rinsing, vacuuming or waiting to see results. Spots will vanish before your eyes." So, naturally, I had to buy a bottle and find out. And I'm not shy about returning things that don't work as promised. Well, surprise, surprise! It works great. It made gold-colored cat hairball puddles on white carpet vanish. It got out shadows of stains that the carpet machine couldn't. And it got out shadows of old stains that the carpet machine couldn't.

I had given up gum all together until I was repeatedly given free samples of Orbit Gum at the gym. The peppermint variety consistently stays fresh for more than an hour, and that's long enough for me to get in a workout. Hooked!

The wintergreen and spearmint flavors didn't seem to hold up quite as long but I see there are two other flavors I haven't yet tried. The one drawback is the packaging -- it falls apart as soon as you remove the first stick, leaving you with a an empty envelope and a bag full of floating pieces of gum.

The packaging for Orbit White is a success. Although it doesn't stay fresh quite as long as regular Orbit Gum, the crispy shell is so enticing the entire 12 pieces in this pack got used up before I could get this review posted.

Schick Intuition razor -- love it! Get one! I meant to buy one after my best friend told me how much she loved hers, but I was slow to get around to it. Thank goodness she went right ahead and surprised me with one.

Years ago, I bought a bar of Chandrika Soap at The Crystal Fox in Laurel, Maryland. For at least a year, it stayed in a dresser drawer infusing my socks with its aroma. Then I tried using it for its original purpose and I fell in love.

I've seen Chandrika Soap for more than $3 a bar online. But I buy it for less than a dollar at Whole Foods. It's probably even cheaper at an Indian Grocery.

Ok, I admit I've had some really nasty experiences with soy cheese before, so I really didn't want to try another one. My mom bought a package of Lisanatti Lite Soy-Sation Mozzarrella Style cheese alternative when she was here in April, and its expiration date isn't until February 10, 2004, so I had a little time to think about it.

This first thing I learned from my bad experiences and from the folks on the sfbaveg yahoo group is that you shouldn't try to eat soy cheese by itself. So I was quite shocked when I tried this one plain and actually liked it. If I was vegan or lactose intolerant, I could maybe even imagine it as part of a Tomato Mozzarella Basil salad. It's also good on nachos, without any other cheeses or ingredients; it melts well and tastes good, although it's on the dry/crispy side. My next experiment was to try a 50-50 blend of Soy-Sation mozzarrella and regular sharp cheddar on nachos -- very good, though also somewhat dry/crispy.
